Job summary

Prodrive, a world-leading motorsport engineering group, seeks a CMM Programmer/Inspector to create, validate and run CMM inspection programmes, and to perform dimensional inspections ensuring parts meet specifications.

You will collaborate with Production and Quality teams, delivering accurate measurement data and inspection reports to support efficient inventory flow and timely decisions. This role requires PC-DMIS expertise and strong GD&T knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in metrology and inspection within motorsport or low-volume automotive environments.
• Ability to programme and operate a CMM using PC-DMIS software.
• Completion of a PC-DMIS Level 3 training course is highly desirable.
• Able to interpret complex 2D drawings, CAD data and GD&T; familiarity with FTA in CAD is desirable.
• Experience in manual inspection and metrology techniques with understanding of first principles.

Responsibilities

• Plan, write and validate CMM inspection programmes using PC-DMIS for new products and process-change activity.
• Run existing CMM inspection programmes to support goods-inwards checks and in-process/first-off inspections.
• Troubleshoot and optimise existing programmes to improve measurement accuracy and cycle time.
• Generate clear, accurate dimensional inspection reports and ballooned drawings.
• Carry out general dimensional inspection of components against 2D drawings, CAD data and specifications.
• Use inspection equipment including Trimos, Mitutoyo SurfTest, and various hand tools.
• Act as a professional interface with other departments, communicating inspection results clearly.
