Job summary

King’s College School in Wimbledon is seeking a Payroll Transformation Lead on a fixed‑term 9‑month contract. You will lead discovery, design, testing, and implementation of a new MHR HR & Payroll system, ensuring data integrity, governance, and minimal disruption.

The role requires extensive payroll transformation experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and collaboration with HR, IT, and Finance to align workflows and ensure successful go‑live across teaching and support staff.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering payroll transformation or implementing a new HR/payroll system (e.g., MHR, iTrent, SAP, Workday, Oracle).
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex payroll data and design solutions.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder engagement across teams.
• Experience in process design, system configuration collaboration, and workflow mapping.
• Experience in change management, business readiness, or transformation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Discovery & Analysis: review payroll processes, cycles, statutory payments, and pension administration; map inputs/outputs and cleanse data; produce risk & decision reports.
• System & Workflow Development: design payroll workflows with MHR, define rules, elements, pension schemes and integration points with HR.
• Testing & QA: lead SIT/UAT/parallel testing, validate calculations, document defects and ensure readiness for go-live.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Change Mgmt: communicate changes, train users, develop materials, drive ownership and adoption.
• Governance, Compliance & Reporting: ensure HMRC rules, pension rules, and internal controls; maintain documentation and audit readiness.
