Job summary

Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment is supporting a major finance transformation programme by recruiting a Payroll Process Analyst. The role focuses on analysing, documenting and improving end-to-end payroll processes within a complex organisation, working with Finance, HR and senior stakeholders across the business.

The position involves developing operating models, KPI frameworks and governance materials, with hands-on delivery support and readiness activities for go-live and BAU handover.

Qualifications

• Experience in business process analysis, continuous improvement, payroll operations or transformation environments.
• Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls and compliance requirements.
• Experience applying LEAN, process optimisation or similar CI methodologies.
• Exposure to finance change, project delivery or transformation programmes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex information into practical recommendations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working across Finance and HR functions advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate inputs from key stakeholders and support delivery of the Payroll workstream.
• Document payroll process maps, operating principles and service expectations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardisation across the end-to-end payroll cycle.
• Apply LEAN and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce inefficiencies and strengthen controls.
• Conduct root cause analysis to improve payroll accuracy, compliance and operational effectiveness.
• Support design and documentation of payroll processes, inputs, calculations, reconciliations, approvals and reporting.
• Develop process requirements, KPI frameworks, reporting requirements and governance materials.
• Track risks, issues and dependencies across the workstream.
• Support payroll system, workflow and readiness activities as part of the wider programme.
• Assist with implementation, go-live activities and BAU handover.
