Job summary

Sapphire is an employee-owned payroll, accountancy and technology business based in Stockport. We’re looking for a Payroll Technician to join our team and support recruitment companies and contractors across the UK.

The role is ideal for someone with payroll experience or strong numerical/administrative or finance experience looking to build a career in payroll. You’ll receive training to develop payroll knowledge, take ownership of a client portfolio and work towards professional payroll

Qualifications

• At least 1 year experience in payroll.
• Strong numerical ability and excellent attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines.
• Confidence communicating with clients and colleagues.
• A positive, proactive approach to learning.
• Experience in payroll, finance, administration or another detail-focused role would be useful.
• Experience within the umbrella payroll industry is not required.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll accurately and on time in line with individual client requirements.
• Developing responsibility for your own portfolio of payroll clients.
• Ensuring the correct PAYE and National Insurance deductions are applied.

We’re now looking for a Payroll Technician to join our team in Stockport.

This could suit someone who already has payroll experience, or someone with strong numerical, administrative or finance experience who wants to build a professional career in payroll.

You’ll be given the training and support to develop your payroll knowledge, take ownership of a portfolio of clients and work towards professional payroll qualifications.

What you’ll be doing

• Processing payroll accurately and on time in line with individual client requirements
• Developing responsibility for your own portfolio of payroll clients
• Ensuring the correct PAYE and National Insurance deductions are appliedUltimately, our payroll team’s priority is simple: making sure everyone is paid accurately and on time.

  What we’re looking for

  At least 1 Years experience in payroll.

  We’re more interested in finding someone who has:
