People and Pay (PAP) is the HR and payroll division of People Advisory Services, delivering cutting-edge and premium payroll software and solutions to an exceptional range of clients across industries. As the Payroll Team Leader, you will take responsibility for the operation and profitability of your team's client portfolio and report to the Payroll Manager or Associate Director. You will provide an escalation point for technical and commercial issues and ensure accurate and timely HR, Payroll and Pension Administration services for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll end-to-end production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations, deadlines and requirements
  • Ensure the team’s compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Take positive accountability for your team’s output to clients
  • Monitor team KPIs and profitability
  • Keep knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations, including workplace pensions, up to date
  • Promote client care and cascade this to the wider team
  • Provide guidance and support to all team members and other teams/offices as required
  • Review and approve all new AE Pension set-ups
  • Review team performance and set clear objectives
What we are looking for
  • Strong practical understanding of payroll calculations, deadlines, and UK legislation and requirements, including workplace pensions
  • Strong numerical abilities and proven experience with MS Office, in particular Excel
  • People supervision or management experience is desirable, complemented by knowledge of month-end and year-end returns and balancing
  • Resilience and strong attention to detail with the ability to review and improve service and processes
  • Excellent and positive interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with individuals at all levels
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills, ensuring stringent deadlines are met
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities
