Job summary

Autograph Specialist Recruitment is recruiting a Payroll Officer for our Newport office in South Wales. This opportunity sits within a large independent accountancy practice and offers a supportive team environment with around 60 colleagues.

The role covers a full spectrum of payroll tasks across client portfolios and provides coaching and development opportunities. You will process varied payroll cycles, handle client queries with a proactive approach, and contribute to a collaborative office

Qualifications

• At least 3+ years of experience in Accountancy Practice Payroll.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processes, compliance, and software (Sage Payroll preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple payrolls.
• Proactive, customer-focused approach to handling queries and providing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly payrolls for clients using Sage Payroll.
• Managing BACS payments via third-party payment mandates.
• Submitting HMRC returns and uploading pension data to providers.
• Completing year-end submissions.
• Addressing client payroll queries promptly and professionally.
• Providing holiday cover for the Payroll Manager.
