A&O Shearman in Belfast is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis. You will manage monthly UK payroll, handle employee queries, and support payroll remittance for contractors operating inside IR35.

You will deputise for the Payroll Manager, co-ordinate payroll activity, ensure HMRC compliance, and work with HR Operations to resolve payments and data issues. The role requires strong end-to-end payroll knowledge and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience processing UK payroll end-to-end including PAYE, NI and pensions.
• Proven ability to reconcile payroll and prepare journals.
• Experience handling contractor payroll inside IR35.

Responsabilités

• Process UK payrolls from data collection to final outputs.
• Input, validate and process payroll changes (starters, leavers, overtime, deductions).
• Administer contractor payrolls inside IR35.
• Prepare PAYE disbursements and submit EPS to HMRC.
• Undertake monthly reconciliation of payroll/remittance control accounts and year-end tasks.
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and liaise with HR Operations.
