Job summary

SF Partners in Leicester is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our established payroll team. You will own and support a high-volume, multi-site payroll and help drive process improvements.

You'll manage starters, leavers, pay changes and deductions, ensure on-time payments, and navigate UK payroll legislation. This role offers hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days at home) and a clear path to broaden payroll expertise within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a busy, high-volume payroll environment.
• Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation.

Responsibilities

• Processing starters, leavers, pay changes, benefits and deductions.
• Ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
• Managing statutory payroll requirements and maintaining compliance with UK legislation.
• Processing BACS payments to employees, HMRC and third parties.
• Completing payroll and general ledger reconciliations.
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
• Investigating payroll discrepancies and resolving employee queries.
• Supporting overpayment recovery.
• Working closely with stakeholders across the wider business.
• Getting involved in payroll projects and ongoing process improvements.

Payroll Specialist

Leicester | Permanent | Hybrid - 2 days WFH | Up to £35,000

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a role where you can broaden your experience beyond day-to-day payroll processing?

I'm recruiting a Payroll Specialist to join an established payroll team within a successful Leicester-based organisation. You'll support the delivery of a high-volume, multi-site payroll, taking ownership across the payroll cycle while also getting involved in more complex queries, reconciliations and process improvements.

This could be a great next move for an experienced Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer or Payroll Advisor looking to step into a broader specialist position.

What you'll be doing

• Processing starters, leavers, pay changes, benefits and deductions
