Overview

My client is a well-established Accountancy firm based in Chesterfield. You will be part of a friendly and supportive team and work on a portfolio of clients. The client is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities
  • Reporting directly to the Payroll Manager, ensure timely and accurate processing of weekly and monthly payroll.
  • Work in the office in Chesterfield.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, from 1 to several hundred on payroll.
  • End-to-end payroll processing and managing own workload.
  • Handle new starters and leavers, pension contributions, and statutory payments.
  • Carry out pay-runs for clients after approval is received.
  • Arrange payslip distribution and process leaving documentation including P45s.
  • Complete monthly and year-end procedures.
Desirable skills and attributes
  • Previous payroll experience
  • A keen eye for detail and strong initiative
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple payrolls
  • Comfortable and competent using payroll software; good payroll knowledge for answering queries
  • Experience with Auto-enrolment is desirable
  • Bureau experience not essential but desirable if there is high volume/multiple payrolls
