A highly regarded and growing professional services business is seeking an experienced Payroll Services Executive to join its established payroll team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in payroll who enjoys taking ownership of client relationships, delivering a high standard of service and contributing to the continued development of a growing payroll function.

The business is experiencing significant growth and continues to invest in its people, systems and services. As part of a wider professional services group, it offers the stability of an established organisation alongside the opportunities that come with continued expansion.

The successful individual will take responsibility for managing payroll services across a portfolio of clients, working closely with the wider team to ensure accurate, compliant and timely delivery.

With a genuine commitment to work-life balance, the business operates a four-day working week, offering an attractive opportunity to develop your career while benefiting from greater flexibility.

The Role

Working closely with the Payroll Services Partner and wider payroll team, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of payroll services to a varied portfolio of clients.

You will act as a key point of contact for clients, providing guidance, resolving queries and ensuring consistently high standards of accuracy, compliance and service.

Alongside day-to-day payroll responsibilities, you will contribute to improvements in systems, processes and ways of working, helping the department continue to deliver an efficient and responsive service as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Management & Processing
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of clients.
  • Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

  • Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, National Insurance and pension requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory changes and payroll best practices.
  • Identify potential compliance issues and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Support internal and external payroll audits where required.
  • Ensure payroll information is managed accurately and confidentially.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of clients.
  • Act as a main point of contact for payroll-related enquiries.
  • Provide clear, professional guidance on payroll matters, deductions and statutory requirements.
  • Take ownership of more complex queries and client escalations.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of client service and satisfaction.
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Support the effective use and ongoing development of payroll systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of payroll procedures and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business.
  • Support clients and colleagues with payroll systems and processes where required.

You may currently be working as a Payroll Administrator, Senior Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer or Payroll Executive and be looking for an opportunity to take greater ownership of your work within a growing business.

More important than your current job title is your technical payroll knowledge, attention to detail and commitment to delivering an excellent client experience.
