Job summary

Deutsche Bank’s UK Payroll team within Regional HR Operations is recruiting a Payroll Reporting Specialist to support payroll across the UK, Ireland and Sweden. You will work with Payroll, Compensation Finance and HR Operations to ensure accurate reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation and timely reporting in a high-volume environment.

The role emphasises collaboration, process discipline and continuous improvement, including regulatory reporting such as PAYE settlements, gender pay gap

Qualifications

  • Payroll reporting and reconciliations experience is required or highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support UK and Ireland regulatory and statutory payroll reporting.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and balance sheet substantiation.
  • Collaborate with Payroll, Compensation Finance and HR Operations.
  • Act as Primary Account Owner for payroll balance sheet accounts for UK, Ireland and Sweden.
  • Monitor payroll bank payments and related GL postings.
  • Resolve payroll-related stakeholder queries in a timely manner.

Job description

  • You will join the UK Payroll team within Regional HR Operations, supporting the accurate and timely payment of Deutsche Bank employees across the UK, Ireland and Sweden
  • As a Payroll Reporting Specialist, you will play an important role in payroll reporting, reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation and employment duty related activity
  • You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Payroll, Compensation Finance and wider HR Operations, helping ensure payroll accounts and reporting outputs are accurate, controlled and delivered on time
  • This is an opportunity to build specialist payroll, reporting and reconciliation experience in a collaborative team supporting a complex, high-volume environment
  • Prepare and support UK and Ireland regulatory and statutory payroll reporting, including PAYE Settlement Agreement, Gender Pay Gap Reporting and Director Remuneration reporting
  • Complete UK and Ireland payroll reconciliations before expenses are booked into the finance system and shared with Compensation Finance
  • Ensure payroll accounts accurately reflect the payroll payable position and that outstanding items are cleared within expected timelines
  • Act as Primary Account Owner and substantiation preparer for UK, Ireland and Sweden compensation related balance sheet accounts
  • Manage payroll and compensation finance related queries from internal and external stakeholders, building strong and trusted working relationships
  • Monitor, authorise and record manual payroll bank account payments, including recording transactions into finance systems and the relevant general ledger accounts

Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputsExperience using SAP Payroll or similar payroll systems would be beneficialGood understanding of payroll reporting, payroll accounting and employment tax return processesA continuous learning mindset, with openness to innovation, change and process improvementAbility to work collaboratively with Payroll, Finance and HR stakeholders, providing clear and service-focused supportStrong planning, organisation and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and on timeExperience in payroll reconciliations, ideally gained within a high-volume UK payroll environment
