Job summary

Deutsche Bank AG in Birmingham is seeking a Payroll Reporting Specialist to support UK and Ireland payroll reporting, reconciliations and balance sheet substantiation in a high-volume environment.

You will partner with Payroll, Compensation Finance and HR Operations to ensure accurate outputs, manage queries, and apply secure use of data and AI tools to enhance productivity. The role offers a hybrid working model and career development opportunities within a global bank.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll reconciliations in a high-volume UK payroll environment.
  • Understanding of payroll reporting, payroll accounting and employment tax return processes.
  • Strong planning, organisation and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately and on time.
  • Experience using SAP Payroll or similar payroll systems would be beneficial.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Payroll, Finance and HR stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and support UK and Ireland regulatory and statutory payroll reporting, including PAYE Settlement Agreement, Gender Pay Gap Reporting and Director Remuneration reporting.
  • Complete UK and Ireland payroll reconciliations before expenses are booked into the finance system and shared with Compensation Finance.
  • Ensure payroll accounts accurately reflect the payroll payable position and that outstanding items are cleared within expected timelines.
  • Act as Primary Account Owner and substantiation preparer for UK, Ireland and Sweden compensation related balance sheet accounts.
  • Manage payroll and compensation finance related queries from internal and external stakeholders, building strong and trusted working relationships.
  • Monitor, authorise and record manual payroll bank account payments, including recording transactions into finance systems and the relevant general ledger accounts.

As a Payroll Reporting Specialist, you will play an important role in payroll reporting, reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation and employment duty related activity. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Payroll, Compensation Finance and wider HR Operations, helping ensure payroll accounts and reporting outputs are accurate, controlled and delivered on time.
