Job summary

Deutsche Bank is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a six-month contract in Birmingham with a hybrid working model. You will deliver accurate payroll operations across the UK, Ireland and Sweden, ensure payments and tax reporting comply with legislation and support audits and process improvements.

The role requires hands-on payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with quality and speed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in processing UK and/or Ireland payrolls.
  • Excellent administrative and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organisational and follow-up abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform payroll tasks for UK, Ireland and Sweden accurately and on time.
  • Support end-to-end payroll runs including year-end activities and vesting share awards.
  • Update employee records: starters, leavers, changes to bank details and taxes.
  • Respond to payroll queries from UK and Ireland employees in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide payroll tax reporting information to tax authorities as required.
  • Assist with audits and system change testing.
  • Support payroll team leadership and external auditors.

On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for aPayroll Administrator for an initial 6 month contract based inBirmingham. It will be a hybrid model.

Job description - the role

Purpose of the role:
To support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll operations across the UK, Ireland, and Sweden, ensuring all employee payments, tax reporting, and payroll transactions are processed in compliance with legislation and company policies. The role also provides payroll expertise and support to employees, HR teams, and key stakeholders while contributing to payroll audits, testing, and continuous process improvements

What you’ll do:

  • Performing payroll tasks based on the payroll checklist and calendar accurately on time for UK, Ireland and Sweden payrolls.
  • Assist with the processing together with end-to-end control of each payroll run, and of annual pay rounds and vesting share awards.
  • Entering employee amendments including starters, leavers, bank detail changes, personal data, ad hoc payments/deductions, tax record amendments on the payroll system
  • Second level support for HR Direct, responding to payroll queries from UK and Ireland employees accurately on time.
  • Provide accurate responses to the payroll queries to other HR sub functions.
  • Perform payroll tax reporting to respective tax authorities accurately and on time.
  • Producing tax information on a monthly and annual basis (P45 & P60)
  • Support payroll team leader on year-end and other system change testing.
  • Provide internal and external audit support to payroll team leader and payroll manager

The skills you’ll need:

  • Experience in processing UK and / or Ireland payroll with the ability to perform manual payroll calculations.
  • Strong administrative and interpersonal skills, as role liaises with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, organisational and follow-up skills
  • Strong analytic and Microsoft Excel skills
  • SAP Payroll experience (desired)
  • Experience in processing payroll for modified PAYE schemes (desired)
