Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a highly organised People and Payroll Services Advisor to join our People Team. You’ll deliver accurate payroll across SAP Payroll and Workday, guiding on processes, statutory requirements and employee queries, ensuring on-time payments and compliance.

You’ll work with HR, Finance and external providers to drive improvements while supporting a busy payroll function in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll administration and processing.
• Knowledge of PAYE, HMRC requirements and payroll legislation.
• Experience maintaining accurate employee records and handling confidential information.
• Strong Microsoft 365 skills.
• Experience using Workday or similar HR systems.
• Experience using a payroll system, ideally SAP.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll activities with accuracy and statutory compliance.
• Manage lifecycle payrolls: starters, movers and leavers.
• Maintain employee data across Workday and SAP.
• Process maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental pay.
• Support pension administration, audits and statutory reporting.
• Handle payroll payments: expenses, company cars, union subscriptions.
• Produce payroll reports and perform variance checks.
• Deliver excellent payroll service to employees and managers.
• Collaborate with HR, Reward, Finance and providers to improve processes.
• Drive continuous improvement across payroll operations.
