Job summary

Transaction Recruitment are supporting a market-leading business based in Lichfield in their search for an experienced Payroll Officer to join them on a permanent basis. This is a standalone role with full ownership of the payroll for circa 800 employees and a hybrid working pattern.

Key duties include end-to-end payroll processing, starters/leavers, statutory deductions, HMRC submissions, pensions auto-enrolment, year-end reporting, and payroll reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for ~800 employees on time.
• Manage starters, leavers and pay changes.
• Calculate overtime, statutory pay, bonuses and other additions/deductions.
• Ensure PAYE, National Insurance and other deductions are correct.
• Handle HMRC submissions and year-end reporting.
• Administer pensions auto-enrolment and deductions.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and generate reports for Finance.
• Respond to employee payroll queries promptly.
• Keep up to date with changes in legislation and payroll records.

• Managing starters, leavers and contractual changes, including variations to pay
• Calculating and processing overtime, statutory pay, bonuses and other additions and deductions
• Ensuring PAYE, National Insurance and other statutory deductions are applied correctly
• Handling HMRC submissions and year-end reporting
• Administering pensions auto-enrolment and benefit deductions
• Carrying out payroll reconciliations and checks, and producing reports for Finance
• Responding to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally
• Keeping up to date with legislative changes and maintaining accurate payroll records
