Job summary

Tenon FM Limited in Uxbridge is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead a small payroll team and deliver accurate, compliant payroll services. The role focuses on processing, governance, and continuous improvement of payroll systems and processes.

You will manage monthly payrolls, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide expert guidance on pay and tax matters while supporting the business with payroll analytics.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing payroll across multiple sites.
  • Experience with Auto-enrolment and LGPS schemes.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and data accuracy.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently recruiting for motivated, reliable and customer focused Payroll Manager to join our team based in Uxbridge Office.

Job Type: Permanent - Full Time.

Pay Rate: £52,000 to £55,000 per annum.

Working Hours: 40 Hrs per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 Hrs to 17:30 Hrs.

Start Date: Immediately.

ROLE SUMMARY:

Tenon fm are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented Payroll Manager to be based in Uxbridge, London. We are seeking a Payroll Manager to play a key role in shaping how the payroll function operates. This is more than a payroll leadership position; it's an opportunity to influence the future of payroll, payroll systems, and people data across the organisation. You will lead a small team and ensure and deliver an effective payroll service to the business.

Your responsibilities and Key Areas of work may include:
  • Managing and developing the payroll team, ensuring that you keep up to date with new legislation
  • Overseeing all monthly payroll runs, ensuring accuracy of data and compliance with legal requirements
  • Providing advice and guidance to employees on pay & tax related queries
  • Providing monthly updates to the Board in relation to the legal updates and payroll related initiatives in line with the company strategy
  • Analysis and reporting on financial data relating to payroll and providing meaningful data to internal stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and integrations
  • Developing and streamlining payroll related processes
  • Dealing with external local & government bodies HMRC, local council for pay deduction related queries
  • Overall responsibility for employee documentation including legal `Right to work` documents.
  • Processing TUPE IN/OUT, handling different terms & conditions, assisting in preparation of Employer Liability Information sheet.
  • Complete the month end and year end duties, P60's, P45`s.
  • Develop and follow internal processes.
  • Manage and allocate the team`s workload, redirecting where required to cover annual leave and deadlines
  • Process Auto Enrolment pensions & LGPS pension to meet legal obligations including enrolment, re enrolment and completion of the declaration.

You will need to present and conduct yourself in a professional, courteous and appropriate manner in accordance with the Company policies, procedures, guidelines and values.

ABOUT YOU:
  • Previous experience of managing multi-site payroll for white- and blue-collar employees
  • Experience of managing Auto-enrolment and LGPS scheme
  • Solid Payroll knowledge and experience and thorough understanding of senior responsibilities
  • Team management experience (ideally in a payroll capacity)
  • Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • End-to-end payroll processing experience
  • Excellent problem solving capabilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll software.
  • Good understanding of UK legislation and ability to translate requirements
  • Excellent understanding of local government pension schemes
  • Previous experience of managing employee files & Right to work documents.
  • Good organisation & communication skills
  • Excellent written & communication skills and should be able to use Microsoft word & Excel at intermediate level.
