Job summary

Alexander Lloyd is seeking a skilled Payroll Leader to head the Group payroll function, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant delivery of payroll services across the business. You will manage four payrolls, pension schemes, and payroll-related benefits while driving continuous improvement and strong controls.

The role requires CIPP qualification or equivalent experience, extensive payroll expertise, and ability to lead the Payroll & Benefits team with a focus on compliance and year-end

Qualifications

• CIPP qualification or equivalent experience.
• Extensive payroll experience across multiple employee groups.
• Experience with PAYE, P11Ds and BIK reporting.
• Available on a maximum of 1 month's notice.
• Must be able to attend office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Group payroll function across the business.
• Oversee four payrolls, pension schemes, and payroll-related benefits.
• Ensure PAYE, National Insurance, pension legislation and HMRC compliance.
• Own payroll controls, reconciliations and audit processes.
• Manage year-end activities including P60s and P11Ds.
• Administer salary sacrifice and employee benefits programmes.

Job description

Duties Will include but not be limited too:To lead and develop the Group payroll function, ensuring the accurate, timely and compliant delivery of payroll services across the business

• Responsible for four payrolls, multiple pension schemes, payroll-related employee benefits, payroll compliance, controls, reporting and continuous improvement
• Lead, coach and develop the Payroll & Benefits Officer, ensuring workloads are appropriately managed and service standards are achieved

• Ensure compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, pension legislation, auto-enrolment requirements and all associated HMRC obligations.
• Manage multiple pension schemes, ensuring pensionable pay, employee deductions, employer contributions and statutory requirements are administered accurately.
• Own payroll controls, reconciliations and audit processes, ensuring payroll information is accurate, complete and appropriately documented.
• Manage all year-end payroll activities including P60s, P11Ds, Benefits-in-Kind reporting and pension re-enrolment activities.
• Ensure salary sacrifice and benefit schemes are administered effectively, including electric vehicle schemes, private medical insurance, cycle-to-work schemes and other employee benefits.
