Job summary

Edviseplus Tax & Finance Consultants Ltd. is seeking a highly organized Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll department in our ICAEW-registered accountancy firm in Birmingham, UK. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for multiple clients and maintain compliance with UK laws and regulations.

You will collaborate with accounting and HR teams, supervise payroll staff, and support audits while managing payroll software systems for efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
• ACCA/ACA qualifications preferred.
• Experience in payroll and UK tax compliance is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing – Manage accurate and timely payroll for multiple clients in compliance with policy and law.
• Tax Compliance – Calculate and remit PAYE and NI, ensure timely tax filings.
• Client Communication – Act as primary payroll contact for clients, providing excellent service.

Job description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Manager to oversee the payroll department within our accountancy firm which is regulated by & registered with ICAEW, UK. The Payroll Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our clients, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This individual will also work closely with our accounting and human resources teams to ensure seamless operations and compliance with all applicable UK laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing - Manage the accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Tax Compliance - Ensure payroll taxes are calculated and remitted on time, including PAYE, NI contributions and ensure compliance with all relevant tax filings.
• Client Communication - Serve as the main point of contact for payroll inquiries from clients, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any issues promptly.
• Record Keeping - Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions, adjustments, and other payroll-related documentation in accordance with legal and client requirements.
• Reporting - Generate and distribute payroll reports and payslips for clients, providing insights into labor costs, deductions, and other relevant financial metrics.
• Compliance Management - Ensure all payroll-related activities comply with applicable UK laws and regulations.
• Supervision and Training - Supervise and train payroll staff to ensure they are up to date on best practices and compliance issues. Provide guidance and support as needed.
• Audit Support - Prepare payroll data and reports for internal and external audits, assisting in clients’ audits related to payroll, benefits and deductions.
• System Management - Oversee the integration and use of our payroll software systems, ensuring they are optimized for efficiency and accuracy.
• Process Improvement - Continuously assess and improve payroll processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Candidate holding professional qualifications like ACCA, ACA will be preferred.
