Job summary

Sage is seeking a Payroll Consultant to lead and deliver Sage People Payroll implementations in a hybrid Newcastle setting. You will guide customers, partners and internal teams, ensuring payroll processes are compliant and scalable while driving operational excellence.

The role blends payroll expertise with project delivery, customer focus and technology fluency. Hybrid work with in-office three days weekly.

Qualifications

• Proven experience implementing payroll solutions in large/complex organisations.
• Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation, compliance and operations.
• Experience managing payroll or HR systems projects from requirements through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead Sage People Payroll implementations with high-quality delivery.
• Act as a payroll SME for customers, partners and internal teams.
• Manage payroll projects from planning to deployment, owning timelines and risks.
• Support pre-sales with payroll input for customer requirements.
• Configure payroll solutions, test, validate data and support go-live.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll, system and data issues.
• Analyse payroll data to identify risks, trends and optimisation opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Drive improvements in efficiency, controls and employee experience.
• Create implementation guides, process docs and training materials.
• Build strong relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders.
• Provide commercially focused recommendations delivering business value.
