Job summary

EY is seeking an Implementation Manager to onboard new clients to EY’s Payroll Operate solution in the UK, delivering high-quality payroll implementations across the UK. The role is based in a UK-wide context with hubs in Newcastle, Manchester, Belfast and London, and the successful candidate will drive delivery of client engagements on time and to the required standard.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years’ hands-on UK Payroll knowledge.
• Payroll implementations in high-volume environments.
• Experience with payroll compliance (AE, RTI, Apprenticeship Levy).
• Understanding statutory payments/deductions and pension contributions.
• Knowledge of upstream and downstream payroll processes.
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines.
• CIPP qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients to understand Payroll needs and develop requirements to ensure on-time, high-quality implementations.
• Plan and manage delivery of client implementations to meet target dates.
• Coordinate data migration, parallel and first live runs with clients and internal teams.
• Document proposed payroll functionality and draft client procedures.
• Work with service delivery to handover to BAU team.
• Develop bespoke payroll reports (e.g., General Ledger).
• Understand Quality and Risk requirements for professional services.
• Support and develop junior team members.
• Prepare fee and budget details.
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues impacting delivery; act as escalation point.
