Job summary

JSS is seeking an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead the UK payroll function and oversee benefits administration. You will manage a small team, work with HR and operations, and drive improvements in payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

You will ensure HMRC compliance, including salary sacrifice and P11D reporting, while developing a robust expenses platform and delivering insightful payroll analytics to support business decisions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading payroll and benefits in a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Experience managing a team and driving improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead UK payroll across multiple payrolls and ensure timely processing.
• Oversee employee benefits administration and compliance.
• Ensure HMRC compliance including salary sacrifice and P11D reporting.
• Own the employee expenses platform and improve processes.
• Produce payroll data and reports for decision making.
• Partner with Finance, HR and operations on payroll-related initiatives.
• Manage relationships with external payroll and systems providers.
• Support audit requirements and meet reporting deadlines.
• Develop and mentor the payroll team for career progression.
• Drive continuous improvements across payroll and benefits.
