Job summary

Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd is seeking a Payroll Assistant to join a supportive, friendly team in Gloucestershire.

The role offers permanent, full-time employment with hybrid work and a salary of 25–27k per year, with training provided to build payroll skills.

Qualifications

• Around 6-12 months payroll experience.
• Understanding of payroll processes and statutory payments.
• Good communication skills and accuracy.
• Positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office and admin systems.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll processing across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles.
• Prepare payroll data including time sheets, starters/leavers, and basic adjustments.
• Respond to payee queries with friendly, helpful customer service.
• Assist with statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and holiday pay.
• Learn payroll systems.

Payroll Assistant Permanent and Full-time; potential for Hybrid work £25-27,000 per annum Gloucestershire Step into a role where you can build your payroll skills in a supportive, friendly team of four.

You'll help deliver accurate and timely payroll services across a variety of clients and industries, gaining hands-on experience and growing your confidence.

What you'll be doing Supporting payroll processing across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles Preparing payroll data including time sheets, starters/leavers, and basic adjustments Responding to payee queries and providing friendly, helpful customer service Assisting with statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, and holiday pay Learning payroll systems
