Job summary

IndWin is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join our team in Stafford (ST18) for a 36-hour week, Monday to Friday. This temporary ongoing role handles weekly/monthly payroll processing, deductions, and pensions with an immediate start.

You will maintain payroll records, handle payroll queries, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations while protecting confidential information. Experience in payroll and basic finance admin is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll administration or payroll assistant role.
  • Understanding of payroll processes and statutory payments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent numerical and data entry skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and/or monthly payrolls accurately and within deadlines.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and ensure information is up to date.
  • Calculate and process overtime, bonuses, commissions, holiday pay, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and payroll legislation.
  • Process starters, leavers, and employee changes, including salary amendments and pension enrolments.
  • Assist with pension administration and auto-enrolment requirements.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and managers in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management and finance teams as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll and employee information at all times.
  • Support payroll audits and provide relevant documentation when requested.
  • Liaise with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers where necessary.

Job Purpose

To support the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, ensuring all pay, deductions, and statutory payments are administered correctly and in line with company policies and current legislation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous payroll or finance administration experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and/or monthly payrolls accurately and within deadlines.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a payroll administration or payroll assistant role.
  • Good understanding of payroll processes and statutory payments.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent numerical and data entry skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll systems.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Desirable:

  • Payroll or finance-related qualification.
  • Experience using payroll software such as Sage Payroll, Iris, ADP, or similar.
  • Understanding of pensions and auto-enrolment legislation.
