Job summary

QinetiQ Group plc, based in Salisbury, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to support Employee Services by delivering payroll across three payrolls, while ensuring correct tax codes, NI and Sick Pay compliance. You will provide first-line payroll support and uphold HMRC and GDPR policies, with on-site work at Boscombe Down.

The role is 37 hours per week, onsite three days on average, within a Defence sector environment. CIPP progress encouraged.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT applications.
• Experience in a payroll position.
• Knowledge of Tax Codes, National Insurance and Statutory Sick Pay.
• Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1st line payroll support via phone, email and drop-in visits.
• Deliver excellent customer service for all payroll customers.
• Administer payroll for three different payrolls.
• Process payroll files according to schedule and cut-offs.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC policies, GDPR and internal procedures.
• Liaise with third parties as required.
• Role is 37 hours per week, onsite at Boscombe Down (3 days on average).

The Payroll Administrator is a member of the Enterprise Services team where you will provide support to Employee Services delivering planned or requested activities which will depend on the requirements of the individual task to effectively deliver high quality services to our customers.

• To provide 1st line payroll support (via phone, email, and drop-in visits into the Helpdesk)
• To provide an excellent level of customer service for all customers
• To administer the payroll for three different payrolls
• To process all payroll files in accordance with the payroll schedule and payroll cut-offs
• To ensure compliance with all HMRC and payroll policies, procedures and work instructions
• To ensure compliance with GDPR regulations, organisational policies, procedures and work instructions
• To liaise with all third parties
• This role is 37 hours per week and is based out of our Boscombe Down facility in Salisbury. This role will require you to be onsite 3 days per week on average.

Essential experience of the Payroll Administrator:

• Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other IT applications
• Demonstrable experience within a payroll position
• In depth knowledge within Tax Codes, National Insurance and Statutory Sick Pay
• Excel skills - V lookups, pivot tables

Essential qualifications for the Payroll Administrator:

• CIPP certification or working towards
