Job summary

Access Education Group in Manchester is seeking a diligent Payroll Administrator to manage monthly payroll for our staff, ensuring accuracy, timely payments and compliance with HMRC RTI and PAYE. You will work closely with HR and Finance to maintain records, handle year-end tasks such as P60s, and support audits while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in payroll administration, preferably within the Education or public sector.
  • Knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC procedures, and RTI reporting.
  • Familiarity with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Good communication skills and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly payroll for all employees accurately and within deadlines.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records including starters, leavers, changes in pay, and absences.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including RTI submissions and PAYE.
  • Collaborate with HR to verify new hires, contracts, and benefits affecting payroll.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries efficiently.
  • Prepare and distribute payslips and other payroll reports.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including P60s and pension submissions.
  • Support audits and provide payroll information as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll information at all times.

Role Overview

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our employees, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal policies.
