Job summary

Impact Recruitment is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the finance team in Northampton. The role covers payroll, reconciliations and month-end support, with a focus on maintaining accurate records in a friendly environment.

The successful candidate will have payroll experience, AAT Level 3, and at least 3 years in an accounts role, with strong Excel skills and knowledge of Xero or Sage Payroll. Flexible hours and progression opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

• A minimum AAT Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Payroll experience is essential.
• At least 3 years' experience within an accounts position.
• Experience using Xero accounting software & Sage Payroll is ideal.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll, including deductions, payments and HMRC submissions.
• Reconciling bank statements and company accounts.
• Processing receipts and payments accurately.
• Preparing and issuing invoices.
• Maintaining financial records and databases.
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
• Assisting with financial reporting and administrative tasks.
• Liaising with internal teams and external contacts as required.
