Job summary

Impact Recruitment is supporting a well-established business in Northampton seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the finance team. The role covers payroll, reconciliations, month-end tasks, and accurate record-keeping.

The ideal candidate holds an AAT Level 3 or equivalent, with payroll experience and at least 3 years in accounts. Xero and Sage Payroll experience are advantageous, along with strong Excel and meticulousness.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.
• Payroll experience is essential.
• At least 3 years' experience in an accounts position.
• Experience using Xero accounting software & Sage Payroll is ideal.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll, including deductions, payments and HMRC submissions.
• Reconciling bank statements and company accounts.
• Processing receipts and payments accurately.
• Preparing and issuing invoices.
• Maintaining financial records and databases.
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
• Assisting with financial reporting and administrative tasks.
• Liaising with internal teams and external contacts as required
