Job summary

Ryft Pay Ltd is seeking a Risk Operations Analyst to join the first-line fraud and risk function in Manchester. You’ll handle inbound risk and compliance queries from acquiring and banking partners, tracing transactions end-to-end and delivering precise responses that meet partner expectations.

You will monitor merchant risk, feed intelligence into fraud detection, and collaborate with the Fraud & Risk Manager to improve response templates and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Experience in a payments operations, risk operations, or financial crime role within a PSP, acquirer, payment facilitator, or bank.
• Ability to trace transactions through payment systems and reconstruct journeys from system data.
• Strong written communication skills for precise banking/regulatory responses.
• Investigative mindset: ask questions and dig deeper beyond plausible explanations.
• Organised and reliable under high query volume; manage multiple cases and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for inbound risk and compliance queries from acquiring and banking partners and manage each query to full resolution.
• Trace transactions end-to-end to reconstruct the payment journey and produce clear responses that meet partner expectations.
• Tailor responses to partner needs, including transaction trails, merchant explanations, and supporting docs.
• Dig deeper when something looks unusual and escalate to Fraud & Risk Manager as needed.
• Maintain a log of queries, timelines, and outcomes to surface patterns and reduce friction with partners.
• Collaborate with underwriting to review onboarding and risk profiles in light of queries and monitoring.
