Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Payments Engineering Business Analyst (Associate/VP) in London to translate business needs into robust technical specifications and system designs. You will collaborate with developers, architects, product managers, and operations teams to design scalable payment solutions.

You will leverage your domain expertise in global payment rails, ISO 20022, and regulatory attestation processes to guide engineering, manage lifecycles, and coordinate audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years as a technical business analyst, systems analyst, or techno-functional product role in payments/fintech.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, APIs, and data modeling.
• Deep knowledge of payment processing and ISO 20022.
• Experience with Agile, Jira, and Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Elicit requirements with product managers and stakeholders and translate into technical specs and user stories.
• Understand system dependencies, data models, and APIs; ensure feasible, architecture-aligned solutions.
• Serve as liaison between Payments Engineering, Product, Operations and Compliance to align priorities.
• Act as SME on payment processing and ISO 20022; guide implementation of features.
• Coordinate annual scheme attestations, audits and evidence collection.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies; manage technical backlog and unblock developers.
