Job summary

Monzo is seeking a Data Director in Payments to shape seamless local payment experiences, design data strategy, and scale data foundations across geographies. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Design to drive revenue and customer growth while ensuring reliable payments infrastructure.

Located in London or working UK-wide, you’ll lead a full-stack data team, champion data-driven decisions, and participate in a thorough interview process.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a data team in a fast-growing payments business
• Strong product and commercial judgement with data expertise
• Ability to translate between technical, product and commercial perspectives
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities

Responsibilities

• Establish yourself as a trusted member of the Payments Leadership team
• Co-drive Payments strategy and product decisions with Product and Engineering
• Identify untapped opportunities for commercial optimisation, including across pricing and growth
• Set the data strategy for Payments, including the operating model, architecture and key metrics
• Translate between technical, product and commercial perspectives to drive high-impact decisions
• Lead and grow a full-stack data team across Data Science, Analytics Engineering, ML Engineering and Analytics
• Collaborate with senior cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing and risk/control functions
