Icon Solutions is seeking an experienced Payments Business Analyst to work with IPF Product Owner, Architects, Engineers, Agile Delivery Leads, Project Managers, and clients to determine requirements, agree designs, and to lead agile delivery teams to deliver simple solutions to complex business challenges.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable payments knowledge across multiple schemes and strong BA background in banks or financial institutions.
• Experience creating and elaborating epics and user stories using industry best practices.
• Experience with ISO20022 messages and related schemas.
• Experience in Kanban or Scrum environments focused on delivering business value.
• Ability to work with UX/UI designers, engineers and stakeholders to map journeys and build usable designs.

• Document requirements as detailed user stories reflecting the agreed design and definition of ready.
• Lead kickoff sessions to align delivery teams on goals and deliverables.
• Maintain and prioritize the backlog to maximize business value.
• Sign off on all user stories and ensure adherence to agreed ways of working.
• Ensure functionality is documented, production-ready and properly tested.
• Run client or internal demos of functionality when needed.
• Identify and report risks, escalate where necessary and raise suggestions for new functionality to the Product Owner.
• Attend all agile ceremonies.

The IPF team is looking for an experienced Payments Business Analyst to work with the IPF Product Owner, Architects, Engineers, Agile Delivery Leads, Project Managers, and our clients to determine requirements, agree designs, and to lead agile delivery teams to deliver simple solutions to complex business challenges.

The Icon Payments Framework (IPF) provides institutions with faster and more cost-effective access to payment solutions through an advanced and highly flexible payments specific platform which seamlessly integrates with our clients’ core and back-office banking applications.

About you

The successful candidate will have demonstrable payments knowledge of multiple payment schemes and have a strong background of business analysis in banks or other financial institutions. We are looking for self-starters, who will readily take ownership and lead successful product delivery in an Agile environment. Additionally, you should boast the following:

• Excellent analytical skills and a passion for the detail –must demonstrate an ability to logically divide up a problem, identify and resolve contradictions and ambiguities
• Extensive experience of the creation and elaboration of epics & user stories using industry best practices
• Demonstrable experience of multiple Payment Schemes, such as, SCT, FPS, FedNow etc.
• Good understanding of ISO20022 payment messages, schemas and the usage of specific fields within those messages
• Experience of working in a Kanban or Scrum software development environment, always focusing on delivery of business value
• Experience working alongside UX/UI designers and engineers – user journey mapping, personas, wireframes/mock-ups and usability testing
• Knowledge of payment and technical operations include the payment lifecycle, exceptions, investigations, repair and operational reporting
• Ability to manage & prioritise backlogs of work for delivery squads
• Ability to identify and manage dependencies between work items to ensure blockers and conflicts are avoided
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with engineers, architects, clients at various levels
• Experience with the use of UML techniques including Sequence Diagrams and Finite State Machines or other notations like BPMN, using a modelling tool or similar

• Requirements gathering, analysis, elaboration & refinement – for either internal or client facing (external) delivery projects
• Working with architects and stakeholders to agree solution / feature designs
• Documenting of requirements in detailed user stories reflecting the agreed design and achieving our definition of ready
• Running kick off sessions with delivery teams to talk through the requirements and agreed design so that the squad understands the overall goal before starting a project
• Maintaining and continually prioritising the backlog of work to deliver maximum business value
• Perform signoff for all user stories
• Ensure our ways of working are adhered to
• Ensure delivered functionality is documented, production ready, appropriately tested and fit for purpose
• Run client or internal demos of functionality where necessary
• Identify and report risks and issues, take steps to resolve / mitigate, escal ate where necessary
• Raise suggestions for new product functionality to the Product Owner where appropriate
• Attend all agile ceremonies
