Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Vice President, Machine Learning Data Scientist in Payments to lead the design, development, and production deployment of ML and generative AI solutions across cloud infrastructure, delivering measurable impact in global finance.

You will partner with product, operations, risk, and technology teams, mentor engineers and data scientists, and establish reusable patterns for scalable MLOps, governance, and observability in production.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of ML and AI solutions for payments and banking operations from discovery to production.
• Develop innovative ML solutions including generative AI and multi-agent approaches with safety and monitoring strategies.
• Own production deployment patterns including CI/CD, testing, model registries, governance, monitoring, and rollback strategies.
• Architect scalable and secure ML services across APIs, batch, streaming, and event-driven patterns with SLAs.
• Partner with product, operations, risk, and technology to influence roadmaps and deliver data-led transformations.
• Establish reusable data science capabilities: feature engineering, evaluation harnesses, prompt tooling, and orchestration.
• Provide technical leadership through code/design reviews and cross-team mentoring.
• Communicate outputs to stakeholders and document approaches, runbooks, and procedures.
