Job summary

J.P. Morgan in London seeks a Vice President Machine Learning Data Scientist to lead design, development, and deployment of ML/AI in Payments. You will own end-to-end delivery from framing problems to scalable MLOps and governance, mentoring engineers and data scientists, and shaping production AI strategy.

You will collaborate with product, operations, risk, and technology teams to turn ideas into measurable outcomes and maintain clear documentation and model cards for governance.

Qualifications

• Master's or equivalent in a quantitative field with strong ML background.
• Strong applied data analysis and rigorous evaluation in real settings.
• Production ML deployment experience including monitoring and incident management.
• Proficient Python with modular design, testing and debugging.
• Knowledge of MLOps/LLMOps and distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end ML/AI solution delivery for payments and banking ops.
• Develop generative AI and multi-agent ML solutions with evaluation and safety patterns.
• Own production deployment patterns: CI/CD, testing, model/version governance.
• Architect scalable ML services across APIs, batch, streaming, events.
• Partner with product/ops/risk/tech to influence roadmaps and requirements.
• Establish reusable data science/machine learning capabilities at scale.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews and upskilling.
• Communicate model outputs to stakeholders and document procedures.
