Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Engineer to join the Pavement/Roads Team in the South East region. You will lead the development and delivery of pavement renewal schemes, ensuring SRN safety and customer needs.

You will coordinate works with project teams and third parties, providing technical support and aligning with asset class strategies and standards. The role involves planning and development, early solution identification, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree or HND in relevant discipline.
• Good knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards and their application on the highway network.
• Experience in highway infrastructure design, construction and delivery methods.
• Good knowledge of CDM 2015.
• Membership of professional Body desirable or working towards Membership.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety needs of customers and employees are fully considered throughout planning and delivery of each service activity.
• Provide support in asset studies and survey works, prioritising needs to keep assets in serviceable condition.
• Develop early solutions for renewals and improvements, including documentation, evidence and options for value management.
