Job summary

Prometheus Safe & Secure Ltd is seeking a dedicated care support professional to assist qualified nurses in delivering safe, compassionate patient transfers and enhanced observation services across the NHS and partner organisations. You will work with multidisciplinary teams, complete pre-journey checks, document care accurately, and participate in safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS clearance for both adults and children.
• Full UK driving licence covering both manual and automatic vehicles with 6 or fewer points.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support qualified nurses in delivering safe, effective and professional patient transfers.
• Provide compassionate, person-centred care, ensuring patients feel comfortable, respected and supported.
• Respond calmly and confidently to challenging situations and emergencies.
• Use effective communication and approved de-escalation techniques to reduce distress and maintain safety.
• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable adults and children.
• Support safe interventions in accordance with individual risk assessments, training and company protocols.
• Drive company ambulances when required, ensuring safe, comfortable and timely journeys.
• Complete pre-journey vehicle and equipment checks to maintain operational readiness.
• Complete accurate patient documentation and contribute to comprehensive clinical handovers, including relevant risks and current presentations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues and partner healthcare organisations to support continuity of care.
• Attend mandatory training, team meetings and professional reviews to maintain and develop your skills.
• Adhere to Prometheus policies, safeguarding procedures and relevant healthcare legislation.
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, professionalism and accountability throughout every shift.
