Job summary

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Dispatcher for Non-Emergency Patient Transport in Otterbourne. The role involves coordinating patient journeys 365 days a year, with shifts starting as early as 05:00 and finishing by 01:00, on a rolling 10-week rota.

Training starts 23 November 2026; DBS checks are required. Applicants should demonstrate strong communication, customer service and data handling skills, with training provided for dispatching and transport

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong IT, mapping and data handling skills.
• Experience in dispatching, transport coordination or healthcare settings desirable with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate non-emergency patient transport bookings and schedules.
• Communicate with patients, crews and hospital partners to arrange journeys.
• Work as part of a dispatch team to ensure safe, timely transport.
