Job summary

Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services Limited is advertising a part-time Patient Services Assistant (PSA) for Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves delivering high-quality catering and domestic cleaning tasks across ward areas, with a 16-hour week on a 10-week rota including some weekends and bank holidays.

The position requires reading, basic maths and English, Level 2 Food Safety, and previous hospital environment experience.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Understanding of health and safety practices and COSHH regulations.
• Basic IT skills and comfort with digital systems.
• Reading and understanding written instructions to required standards.

Responsibilities

• Catering: provide high-quality food and drink service to patients on wards.
• Serve meals efficiently while maintaining food quality and specifications.
• Assist patients with menu choices and meal service.
• Ensure ward kitchens and catering areas meet NHS standards and are cleaned properly.
• Operate catering equipment safely with appropriate training.
• Contribute to a positive dining experience for patients.
