Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring a Patient Service Representative for an in-person role in Dover, DE. This fully onsite position follows a strict Monday–Friday schedule with specific shift hours.

You will greet patients, schedule appointments, handle insurance verifications, collect co-pays, and support communications with insurers and attorneys while maintaining accuracy and a patient-centered service mindset. Training is provided if healthcare experience is not present.

Qualifications

• Patient-centered mindset with strong customer service skills.
• Healthcare experience is preferred but not required; training provided.
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable basics including math.
• Proficient with common office equipment (faxes, copiers, etc.).
• Fluent typing (>=40 wpm) and Windows-based Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients and explain what to expect during visits and next appointments.
• Schedule patient appointments in person and by phone.
• Communicate with attorneys, insurers and translation services; support operations and business development.
• Collect co-pays, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance verifications/authorizations.
• Prepare intake forms ahead of appointments to ensure timely service.
• Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Counsel patients on financial responsibility at time of service.
• Meet QA goals and keep payments reconciled.
• Communicate effectively to solve problems and maintain a clean, safe environment.

This is a fully onsite role - please read shift requirements below***

Mandatory Hours - No Modifications

• Monday 8am-7pm
• Tuesday 8:30am - 3pm
• Wednesday 8am - 7pm
• Thurday 8:30a - 5pm
• Friday 8:30am - 1pm

Day To Day

• Greet and register patients and provide information about what to expect during their visit and information about their next appointment as they check out
• Schedule patient appointments in person and via phone
• Regular communication with parties such as attorney offices, insurance companies and translation companies, market operational leaders and business development team
• Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals and conduct insurance authorizations and verifications
• Prepare patient intake forms prior to appointments to ensure timely service
• Verify insurance eligibility of patients to determine if services are covered, and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Provide counseling to patients advising them of their financial responsibility at time of service
• Achieve quality assurance goals
• Adhere to the established system of controls to secure and reconcile payments receive.
• Effectively communicate with all contacts as necessary to solve problems
• Maintain a clean and safe environment

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Patient-centered mindset: Strong customer service skills
• Healthcare experience is preferred, but not necessary. We will train!
• Proven ability to work with and navigate a computer desktop efficiently (microsoft office)
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounts receivable principles including basic math skills
• Proficient in the use of all necessary office equipment, faxes, copiers, etc
• Fluent typing skills (minimum 40 words per minute) and proficiency with Windows based office technologies (ex. Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
