Job summary

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is seeking a prepared and efficient cook to support meal service for patients and staff. You will prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items for breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events in a hospital kitchen.

Responsibilities include reading orders, following recipes, operating kitchen equipment, ensuring high quality and safe food production, and maintaining clean, sanitary work stations in compliance with HACCP policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED preferred
• Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operation experience in a short order restaurant or other large facility environment

Responsibilities

• Prepares, portions, cooks and presents hot and/or cold food items for breakfast, lunch, dinner and special events
• Reads food orders or receives verbal instructions and prepares and cooks food according to instructions
• Operates a variety of kitchen equipment to measure, mix, wash, peel, cut and trim ingredients
• Tastes products, estimates food requirements, checks production and keeps records to plan production
• Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment and follows HACCP policies and procedures
• Provides high quality service to customers and patients and ensures safety in food preparation
