Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant based at Leverndale Hospital to support patient meal preparation, assembly and service. You will work with the Facilities team to ensure meals are produced and served safely, contributing to a positive patient experience.

With training provided and opportunities to develop within one of the UK's largest NHS organisations, you will help maintain high hygiene standards, follow HACCP procedures and work Monday to Friday 11 am -

Qualifications

Experience in catering, hospitality or food service is desirable.
Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
Understanding of food hygiene, health and safety standards.
Willingness to undertake required training including food hygiene and manual handling.
Good communication and customer-focused approach.
A driving licence is essential where the role includes delivery of functions or catering supplies.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, meal assembly and packing for patients.
Support distribution, regeneration and service of meals across service areas.
Carry out cleaning, wash-up and housekeeping duties in catering areas.
Monitor and maintain food hygiene, temperature control and HACCP procedures.
Ensure food is received, stored and rotated correctly.
Operate catering equipment safely and in accordance with procedures.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, ward staff and other departments to provide an efficient catering service.
