Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a dedicated domestic services operative to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will perform a range of cleaning tasks, operate cleaning machinery, and follow COSHH and safety protocols to meet hospital standards.

The role includes training and progression opportunities, with emphasis on risk assessment and violence prevention, ensuring high standards across daily schedules and routine cleaning duties.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
• On-the-job training with 4–6 weeks induction to achieve full competency.
• PaMOVA training levels 1 and 2 if identify risk assessment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Undertake cleaning tasks using machinery and manual handling.
• Ensure cleaning meets required standards and report issues to supervisor.
• Use cleaning materials in line with Health & Safety and COSHH.
• Clean equipment, furniture, beds and surfaces per schedules.
