Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a dedicated Domestic Services cleaner to provide a safe, welcoming environment for patients, staff and visitors. The role involves night-time cleaning across premises, using appropriate machinery and cleaning agents in line with COSHH guidelines.

You will support new staff in a busy hospital setting, ensuring standards are met and reporting issues to the supervisor. The position runs Monday to Wednesday, 23:00–07:00, with a range of benefits for NHS employees.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning standards and related procedures.
• Working knowledge of Health & Safety guidelines (COSHH).
• Ability to work with people in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to carry out tasks efficiently in a busy environment.

Responsibilities

• Undertake cleaning tasks using machinery, equipment and cleaning appliances.
• Report areas not cleaned due to access issues to the supervisor.
• Utilise cleaning materials in line with COSHH and health & safety responsibilities.
• Ensure safety and consideration of patients, staff and visitors at all times.
