Job summary

Wye Valley NHS Trust is recruiting Health Care Support Worker posts, full time and part time, open to people with or without previous care experience. The role supports nursing teams with patient care, including personal care, meals, mobility, bed making and monitoring patients' condition, and talking with patients and their families.

Candidates can meet the recruitment team at drop-in sessions; interviews are held on 19 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Good standard of secondary education.
• Expected to meet Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks of starting.

Responsibilities

• Support nursing teams in providing patient care.
• Wash and dress patients.
• Serve meals and feed patients.
• Help patients to move around.
• Make beds.
• Talk to patients and their families.
• Monitor patient condition.
• Carry out tasks alongside the wider team.
