Job description

Job Title: Therapeutic Activity Coordinator - Adult Mental Health

Location: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

Organisation Overview: NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the UK's largest healthcare systems, employing around 40,000 staff across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million with regional and national services.

Shift Pattern: Mon-Fri, 9AM-5PM

Role Summary:

The post-holder will be a vital member of the multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively with clinical staff to deliver compassionate care and therapeutic activities within an inpatient ward/department. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing and therapeutic care programs with a person-centred, recovery-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver and coordinate evidence-based therapeutic activities for patients within the ward.
  2. Contribute to Person-Centred Care Plans, setting and reporting on individual goals.
  3. Support and supervise low-intensity Psychological Therapies, under the guidance of inpatient Psychologists.
  4. Participate in the Psychological Therapies agenda and contribute to the local steering group.
  5. Support the education and training of nursing staff and students, both within clinical settings and academic environments.
  6. Support policy implementation and practice changes, including the Continuous Intervention Policy.
  7. Supervise the Therapeutic Activity Healthcare Support Worker.
