A leading NHS Trust in Dartford is seeking a Pathology Quality Lead to enhance quality management within their Pathology services. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, overseeing quality systems, and fostering a culture of excellence. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams to support the delivery of high-quality pathology services.
The Pathology Quality Lead will support the North Kent Pathology Service (NKPS) and aligned Dartford and Gravesham Pathology services, including Point of Care Testing (PoCT), by developing and maintaining the Quality Management Systems (QMS). The role involves overseeing quality systems, pathways, and addressing quality and risk aspects within Operational Pathology.
The Quality Lead will collaborate closely with the Laboratory Management Team and nominated discipline Quality Leads to ensure that NKPS complies with current and future regulatory and accreditation standards. Key external bodies include the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), and the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Modern quality management methods are central to effective pathology services and are vital for clinical governance, health and safety, and risk management. Quality is fundamental to the delivery of pathology services.
As part of the quality team supporting the Directorate's goals, the Pathology Quality Lead will promote a culture of excellence and quality within Pathology. The role includes supporting the development of the QMS and encouraging staff engagement with quality systems.
