Job summary

Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an IT technician to join the Pathology IT Team to provide end-user support for pathology systems. The role requires handling Service Desk calls, triaging issues and escalating to technical teams as needed.

You will act as the first point of contact for users, resolve issues promptly, and work flexibly to meet service needs, including evenings or weekends if required. This post is based in Gateshead, within the NHS Trust network.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service environments.
• First and second line IT support experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NHS/pathology applications such as LIMS and analyser data managers.

Responsibilities

• Manning the Pathology IT Service Desk as the first point of contact.
• Provide first level end-user support and escalate as needed.
• Coordinate with third party suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
