Job summary

HCLTech is seeking an experienced patch management professional to coordinate Windows Server and VMware patching across engineering and operations teams. You will oversee patch delivery, create schedules and change tickets, and drive compliance reporting while collaborating with audit teams.

The role emphasizes governance, interlock meetings, tooling support (ServiceNow), and engagement with stakeholders to optimize patch status and incident response.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of patch management experience.
• Experience with patch management processes, vulnerability management concepts, and related tooling.
• Collaborates with infrastructure functions, leads interlocks, gathers requirements, and produces senior management and audit documentation.
• Good understanding of Windows Server and VMware operating systems; hands-on knowledge is a plus.
• Understanding of cloud-hosted compute environments.
• Strong Excel skills and data analysis.
• Experience with Agile and Jira.
• Basic AI skills, including Gemini or Copilot, beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Windows Server and VMware patch management activities with engineering teams, operations teams, vendors, application owners and server owners.
• Governance and oversight of timely operating system patch delivery.
• Create and manage patching schedules/slots.
• Create and manage change tickets and follow up on approvals.
• Coordinate remediation of gaps in Windows and VMaaS patch compliance reporting.
• Support central patch management with governance of patch ageing estate.
• Manage weekly DB/vendor interlock meetings for patching and approvals.
• Provide support for patch management tooling (ServiceNow).
• Act as contact for internal/external audits and regulators on patching queries and status.
• Maintain operating procedure documentation for patch management with stakeholders.
• Interface with Major Incident Management for critical patch deployments.
