Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a PAT Tester to ensure electrical equipment remains safe and compliant across RNAS Yeovilton and related sites. You will support critical defence operations by maintaining testing records, coordinating schedules, and performing minor on-site repairs where competent.

You will need a recognised PAT qualification and experience in regulated environments, with strong attention to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Hold a recognised PAT Testing qualification (e.g. City and Guilds 2377).
• Experience carrying out PAT inspections in regulated environments.
• Understanding of electrical safety legislation and risk assessment processes.
• Ability to maintain electronic records and use asset management systems and MS Office applications.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships.

Responsibilities

• Carry out formal visual inspections and PAT testing of electrical equipment across different environments.
• Maintain asset registers, testing records, certification documentation, and audit evidence.
• Identify defective equipment and ensure quarantine, reporting, disposal, or repair actions.
• Undertake authorised minor repairs to portable appliances, plugs, cables, and connections where competent.
• Coordinate testing schedules with customer units and support PAT booking requests.
• Support audits, safety inspections, and compliance reporting.
