Job summary

Hollingworth Academy in Milnrow, Rochdale, is seeking a Second Chef to help raise the standard of its catering service for pupils and staff. The role runs Monday to Friday, 6:40am to 2:20pm, 37 hours per week, term-time only.

The position is permanent with NJC Grade 2 SCP 3-4, offering a pro-rata salary and related terms. Start date as soon as possible; applications close on 5 October 2026.

Purpose of the Job:

To assist the Second Chef to continue to raise the standards of the catering provision at Hollingworth Academy, this will include:

• To prepare, cook, present and serve a variety of food to high standards according to pupils and staff needs.
• To prepare high-quality food for corporate events and meetings as required.

Salary:

NJC Grade 2 SCP 3-4 FTE Salary £25,614 - £26,016 per annum. Actual salary pro-rata £21,712 - £22,053 per annum

Term time only

Permanent

Monday to Friday 6:40am - 2:20pm, 37 hours per week (30 minutes un-paid lunch)
