Job summary

The Roof Gardens in London is seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team and support high-end pastry production for our members club and restaurant.

You will work in a busy, high-standard environment, preparing ingredients, ensuring hygiene, training junior chefs, and maintaining portion control. A strong pastry background and commitment to quality are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Luxury pastries experience required.
• Holds Level 2 Food Safety and Health & Safety qualifications.
• Knowledge of COSHH, manual handling and chemical safety.
• Strong English, numeracy and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and ensure smooth operation of your section. Assist sous chef in menu development and recipe creation; adapt food preparation methods based on feedback.
• Train and supervise junior chefs to develop their skills with guidance from senior chefs.
• Monitor portion control to minimise waste and manage inventory / order supplies as needed.

We are looking for a Pastry Chef de Partie to join The Roof Gardens. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be busy supporting the operation to ensure a truly brilliant experience for our members when they dine with us.

You’ll need to be quick-acting, quick-thinking, responsive, and calm under pressure as you work in a busy team to execute preparation, cooking and delivery of your dishes to the very highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Service

Prepare ingredients, maintain cleanliness and hygiene, and ensure smooth operation of your section. Compliance

Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and all associated equipment with high levels of health and safety standards. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene standards, company policies and procedures and assist with maintaining all necessary documentation to ensure adherence to regulation.

Skills & Requirements

• Proven experience in luxury pastry roles
• Holds Level 2 Food Safety and Health and Safety awards
• Knowledgeable in manual handling, COSHH, and chemical safety
• Experienced with kitchen equipment and all sections
• Produces high-quality food with attention to detail
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Competent in English, numeracy, and teamwork
• Enthusiastic about personal and team development
